The Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Hospital

For this multi-million dollar glass project, UltraGlas created and manufactured a total of 125,000 square feet of custom glass to clad and illuminate the entire exterior of the Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Hospital in Kuwait City, Kuwait.

The project comprised five thousand 5’ x 5’ x 1/2” permanently colored, tempered and heat-soak tested, molded glass panels with various teal shades and white translucent coloration. These panels were used as the surfacing for the “spandrel” areas (the rows between the horizontal bands of windows spanning the inverted cloverleaf-shaped structure). The glass was installed in light boxes; by night the building glows like an illuminated gem.

UltraGlas also developed processes and controls specifically for the manufacture of the custom glass panels, as well as the logistics of shipping them safely to Kuwait.
